Dispensing optician Lorraine Bleasdale has joined Vision Care for Homeless People as a new clinic development manager in the north of the UK.
Bleasdale worked at Cumbria independent Lakeland Optical and has previously been a practice manager, held a part-time role with the charity and was a member of the ABDO board.
Speaking about the importance of VCHP, Bleasdale said it was upsetting that people can get to such a low stage in life and feel intimidated about coming into an opticians.
‘It is all about building trust with a warm and welcoming environment to the clinics. Everyone deserves to have the same optical health care,’ she said.
