VCHP opens Gloucester clinic

Norville Opticians optometrist Karen Gennard has joined as clinic lead

Vision Care for Homeless People has opened a new clinic in Gloucester to help the vulnerable get eye check-ups, with support from the local NHS.

Norville Opticians optometrist Karen Gennard has joined as clinic lead, with the facility based on Eastgate Street, and has called for volunteers for roles as clinic manager, optometrists, and dispensing opticians.

Karen Gennard commented: ‘There is a great need to help the homeless community in Gloucester and, while many people recognise the need for food and shelter, being able to see well is high on my radar as an optometrist. We would like to appeal to local businesses and the local community to think about how they can fundraise or volunteer – perhaps for just one day a month.’
