Optegra Maidstone eye clinic opens

Optegra’s first site in Kent has patients attending, beginning Wednesday 17

Optegra Eye Health Care opened its Maidstone Eye Clinic in West Malling this week, with first patients attending on Wednesday 17.

The leader of Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, Councillor Matt Boughton (pictured centre), cut the ribbon alongside lead ophthalmic surgeon Robert Petrarca (left) and clinic manager Ibrahim Toma (right).

It is Optegra’s first site in Kent and intends to initially serve only NHS cataract patients within four to six weeks following referrals, starting in September, and then extend treatment offering to private patients and other vision correction surgery.

Staff training of healthcare technicians and scrub nurses was carried out over four weeks at Optegra’s North London and Guildford hospitals. Meanwhile, service promotion executives and Toma have been connecting with local practices, such as Kings Hill Opticians, Yorwarth Elaine M Optometrists, Bayfields Opticians, Boots Opticians and Specsavers.
