Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP) will triple the size of its network of eye health clinics over the next five years after securing funding from Specsavers.

The charity will grow from seven to 24 clinics and expand into Scotland and Wales to increase access to eye care for those experiencing homelessness.

Elaine Styles, chair at VCHP, said: ‘We are thrilled by this growth in our service, which will enable thousands more people experiencing homelessness to see a brighter future.’

The first new clinic will open in Bristol this October and the announcement was marked by an event in the city attended by 50 people, including Specsavers founder Dame Mary Perkins.
