Viewpoint backs Gift of Sight initiative with donations

A practice in York has collected nearly 500 pairs of glasses for Vision Aid Overseas involving local primary schools in its Gift of Sight community initiative

Hundreds of pupils from Lord Deramore’s, St Wilfrid’s RC, St Oswald’s and Scarcroft primary schools in York all took part and donated unwanted spectacles to the practice.

Trevor Rowley (pictured), owner of Viewpoint Opticians and Optix Software, said: “This was an excellent initiative for us which raised our profile in the local community and brought hundreds of people into the practice with their old glasses. The whole team enjoyed our participation.’
