Vision Aid Overseas launch new donation box

 Vision Aid Overseas has released a new spectacle recycling box for UK practices that support the charity. The box has been sponsored by Norville Optical Group and optical courier DX, who will deliver the boxes free of charge to practices. The charity said it stopped sending second-hand spectacles on its overseas programme in 2012 to improve cost-effectiveness and encourage the development of sustainable supply chains for lenses and frames. It does, however, continue to recycle precious materials found in frames which, it said, raised over £195,000 in 2012. To order a spectacle recycling box visit www.visionaidoverseas.org/box
