Vision Care for Homeless People has appealed for practitioners to volunteer for its eye care service in December.
The charity's Crisis at Christmas service provides optometry and dispensing services to around 250 people in London each year.
Longstanding volunteer optometrist Robert Whitehead (pictured) said: 'I find the two days very rewarding as we have such a mix of people who have lost their jobs and end up homeless, from all walks of life. There is great camaraderie and it is a safe environment.'
The charity also welcomed donations of men's ready-readers, a portable slit lamp and frame cases for the project. Visit www.visioncareforhomelesspeople.org
