Vision Council and National Eye Institute support Healthy Vision Month

The Vision Council has partnered with the National Eye Institute this May to mark Healthy Vision Month with a ‘Reframe Your Future’ campaign.

The 2024 campaign aimed to teach those living with visual impairment about the importance of mental health services and vision rehabilitation to enhance their daily lives.

The US Surgeon General highlighted that the United States was facing a loneliness and isolation epidemic, citing a study of 3,000 US adults showing that those living with vision impairment reported depressive and anxiety symptoms.

Ashley Mills, CEO of The Vision Council, said: ‘Through initiatives like Healthy Vision Month and resources offered by The Vision Council Foundation, we strive to empower individuals with low vision and other visual impairments to lead fulfilling lives and access the support they need for improved quality of life.’
