Vision Express and Childhood Eye Cancer Trust join forces

Vision Express is hosting under-16s drop-in clinics in five of its UK stores

Vision Express is hosting under-16s drop-in clinics in five of its UK stores as part of Retinoblastoma Awareness Week.

Retinoblastoma survivors aged from three to 13-years-old will help host the clinics, which are being run in partnership with the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT).

Members of CHECT team will be on hand to educate parents on the signs and symptoms to highlight the importance of early detection.

Approximately one child is diagnosed with retinoblastoma every week, and while 98% of those diagnosed will survive, many face having an eye removed or lasting sight impairment issues.

Vision Express CEO Jonathan Lawson said: ‘Children’s eye health is such a critical issue and events such as these are vital in educating parents and encouraging them to take their children for their free NHS eye test on a regular basis.’
