
Vision Express held public panel discussions with women in their middle-ages to battle stigmas against aging and wearing glasses, in partnership with Noon support platform.
Last Thursday, speakers including Vision Express marketing director Jane Exon and senior optometrist Peena Govind, DJ Jo Whiley, journalist Mary Ann Sieghart, business woman Michelle Feeney and more explored the need for a change in the public perception of middle-aged women and why wearing varifocals due to age should be embraced.
When communicating with middle-aged female patients who are reluctant to wear glasses due to age-related eye health changes, Govind said: ‘It’s about discovering what style glasses work for you, not limit you. There is an option for everyone, it’s just finding the right one and taking into consideration what you need to do, your prescription, and really having a personalised solution.’
