Vision Express offers free eye tests to drivers

Multiple Vision Express has tied up with car insurance firm Aviva to offer free eye test vouchers via the Aviva website and warned the public do not visit optical practices enough.

A joint initiative highlighted the importance of sight to motorists to help them safeguard their licences and improve road safety.

The free eye test at Vision Express stores was downloadable by registering on the insurer’s website.

A Freedom of Information request as part of the campaign revealed that 9,034 licences were revoked from car and motorcycle drivers citing vision as a factor last year.

Vision Express CEO Jonathan Lawson said: ‘As Cassie’s Law has given authorities greater powers to revoke driving licences due to concerns about standards of vision, it’s never been more important to know that your sight is up to scratch.
