Vision Express on the road with CET

Vision Express recently launched the first of a series of continuing education and training (CET) sessions for practitioners.

The event held last month in Newcastle attracted a record number of the group's employees, including optometrists, dispensing opticians as well as a large number of optometry students. It covered contact lens issues ranging from the A-Z of contact lens problem-solving to continuous wear and cleaning solutions. This first CET session will be repeated in a further eight locations: Epsom, South Mimms, Bristol, Glasgow, Dublin, Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham, with two further sessions at each location scheduled for later in the year. To encourage attendance at these sessions, Vision Express is offering three employees who achieve the highest number of CET points, a trip to the American Academy of Optometry conference in Florida in December. Jerry Lewis, Vision Express director general UK and Ireland commented: 'This is a fantastic opportunity for self-improvement with the programme addressing the challenging changes facing us in the optical market. The CET programme is designed to provide each attendee with the opportunity to learn about the changing optical technologies and the best way to communicate them to the customer.'
