Vision Express has announced plans to celebrate 25 years of trading with a mass bike ride in aid of the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust.

An event called the Ride4Sight challenge will mark the anniversary on October 11, involving around 40 volunteer riders from across the multiple’s store network for a 176-mile ride over three days. They will cycle from the original Vision Express store, which opened in Gateshead in 1988, to the company’s Nottingham head office.

Vision Express CEO Jonathan Lawson (pictured right) was to head the event alongside former Olympic cyclist Bryan Steel (also pictured), who was helping to train the volunteers.
