Cheshire-based Vista Optics has acquired, for an undisclosed sum, the contact lens materials and consumables business of Lamda Polytech of Brackley, Northants, bringing together a wealth of experience in the contact lens materials sector.

Vista, founded in 1979, will absorb the entire Lamda Polytech range into the Vista Optics portfolio of products but the deal does not include Lamda's engineering division.

David Walsh, managing director of Lamda Polytech, said: 'I must congratulate the Vista Optics team who have put together a comprehensive plan to ensure that Lamda Polytech customers are treated with the merit and respect they deserve and that continuity of supply is comprehensively taken into account.

I am convinced that each and every one of the Lamda Polytech customers will continue to receive the level of service to which they are accustomed.'
