The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers (WCSM) and the Association of Optical Practitioners (AOP) had a discussion evening on the recent Williams Report.
Held at the AOP offices, the report into gross negligence manslaughter in healthcare was discussed in an audience of regulators, practitioners, legal advisors and expert witnesses. Henrietta Alderman, AOP’s CEO, opened the event and the report’s author, Professor Sir Norman Williams and Ian Stern QC were also in attendance.
Don Grocott, a past master of the WCSM, chaired the discussion and said: ‘The multi-disciplinary nature of this discussion is exactly the kind of event that The Spectacle Makers are able to facilitate with our broad membership and we are delighted to see such a high level of engagement and interest from across the healthcare sector.’
