Courtyard drinks were enjoyed by recipients of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers’ education and company freedoms ceremony at Apothecaries House in London this week.
Optical figureheads Nick Howard, Scott Mackie and Alan Tinger were among those who continued on to Guildhall to register their freedom of the city of London.
Master of the WCSM Christine Tomkins said: ‘I hope you all now feel a real sense of pride to be part of 400 years of history and tradition.’ Education certificates were handed out across courses including optical technician, practice support and optical retailing.
‘Opportunity dances with those who are on the dance floor and with these qualifications you are very much there,’ added Tomkins.
