We are primary care, stresses Optical Confederation

We are primary care, says OCA Health Select Committee review into whether the Department of Health and its arm’s length bodies have the plans and policies to deliver quality care has been welcomed by the Optical Confederation.

The NHS Confederation has announced plans to publish a series of myth busters challenging common misconceptions on topical issues relating to health and care. These included the quality and standards of care for patients, demand and access, funding, commissioning, future models of care and workforce challenges.

Responding to the release of the resource, Optical Confederation chairman Chris Hunt said: ‘This is a good curtain raiser to Health Select Committee into primary care. Dentists, pharmacists, opticians and hearing specialists – we are all primary care.
