The DO's ability was impaired after allegations of failing GOC Standards

A Welsh dispensing optician in Bodedern has been suspended for six months by the General Optical Council (GOC) due to grounds of public protection, the public interest and dishonest actions.

The fitness to practise committee found Gary Marshall’s ability was impaired following allegations that Marshall fell short of GOC Standards. This included inappropriately modifying the spectacle prescriptions of patients, failing to obtain the necessary authorisation from an optometrist when altering the prescriptions of patients or keeping an adequate record of consultations with a patient.
