Memphis is a new sunglass from Zeal Optics, made from Mazzuccelli's biodegradable acetate

The latest member to the Zeal Optics’ Crafted family of fashion-forward, biodegradable sunglasses is Memphis.  Zeal, from Boulder, Colorado works with Mazzucchelli to turn US cotton into the M49 biodegradable acetate, from which the eyewear is hand-crafted.

‘Memphis harkens back to a bygone time, while telegraphing an era yet to come – a time of style, insight and deep stories,’ said Zeal. The design was inspired by retro classics, could be worn with a suit and tie, to an afternoon on the boat and was wearable by all, said Zeal director of marketing Joe Prebich.

The subtle shape with a flat bridge allowed for a closer, more comfortable fit. Lightweight sculpted temples helped to increase comfort for wearability.
