Zeal Optics has taken its first orders from UK practices and has appointed an agent to sign up more. Frozen UK, a Bristol-based sports distributor, will supply products in the Zeal range for the UK and Ireland.
Managing director Robin Bell described the range as performance driven products aimed at quality independent practices and small groups. He said all of the products had been designed with sporting requirements in mind but with high design values, and all but one of the products could be prescription glazed.
Zeal was set up by Wink and Michael Jackson in the US five years ago and has become established as a major sporting brand around the world. Bell said the UK and Ireland were the last major markets to be targeted.
Products in the range include water and snow goggles, sunwear, lightweight and sportswear, fashion wear and metal frames. Most are available with an interchangeable lens system.
