Recall issued for two batches of GlaxoSmithKline UK’s Zovirax eye ointment after a pharmaceutical ingredient was found to contain metal particles outside the upper specification limit for particle size
A recall has been issued by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for two batches of GlaxoSmithKline UK’s Zovirax eye ointment after a pharmaceutical ingredient was found to contain metal particles outside the upper specification limit for particle size.
The affected batches of the ointment, used to treat the herpes simplex virus, are 3L942 and 3M942 4.5g pack sizes which expire in October 2018 and January 2019. ‘Remaining stocks of the batches should be quarantined and returned to the original supplier for credit,’ said the MHRA.
