A week of news - Google Glass window of opportunity

Google Glass - the latest gadget in a somewhat endless cycle of technological wizardry that has hit modern times - couldn't be a closer fit to eyewear if it tried.

The iPad, the smartphone and the Internet itself have all had a profound effect on the profession works and how it communicates with patients, but 'Glass' could really open things up.

Although it is unclear whether Glass is being developed with an ophthalmic lens, it would seem odd to develop a frame without this objective. And with a sunglass version already at large the chances seem likely.

In a Google-speak, let's say, imagine a world where for each pair of spectacles dispensed a Google Glass chip could be fitted for an additional charge. Now there's a window of opportunity.
