A week of news – jokes at Council

Optician was reporting on the General Optical Council’s latest quarterly meeting this week.

In addition to regulatory matters there were a number of lighter moments, including a discussion over whether a target of 100 per cent success was ever appropriate.

Some argued this left no room for error and was unrealistic. New chair Gareth Hadley, former director of personnel for Her Majesty's Prison Service, pointed out how prisons could not in fact survive with a zero level of offence.
