From its green date stamp to a pullout from Belfast-based Zone Eyewear, this week's journal (14.10.11) pays tribute to optics in Ireland.
Optician was also lucky enough to be taken out to Limerick for a tour around the world's largest contact lens manufacturing plant, owned by Johnson & Johnson.
Meeting some friendly faces along the way, including the plant's general manager Barry O'Sullivan and environmental health and safety manager Margaret Stokes, there were some interesting facts to report back to the newsdesk.
For example, Limerick has been the recipient of 500 euros of investments from J&J since starting up in 1996.
The money has been spent on producing new product lines - most recently TruEye - together with sophisticated production lines eliminating contact with the human hand.
