As reported in this week's journal the iconic Moorfields Eye Hospital is proposing a move across London to more modern facilities.
Speaking to colleagues in the office, in particularly one who has worked there, the proposed move could be positive for both patients and staff.
On the simplest of levels, since the existing building was built on City Road more than 100 years ago the Old Street area itself has developed significantly. The underground station has no step free access and eight different exits, for example, meaning the basic requirement for visually impaired people to easily find their eye appointment cannot always be met. The building itself has been described as ageing and costly.
