An issue with vouchers

? I have just seen a sweet 92-year-old lady who recently had a sight test at the care home where she resides, by The Outside Clinic.

My first point is that it was clearly not necessary to see the patient as a domiciliary as, with the assistance of her daughter, she was able to visit my practice for dispensing.

Secondly, at the time of the eye examination it could not be verified if the patient was entitled to a voucher, so the optometrist quoted the patient £280 for two pairs of spectacles.

I have since seen evidence of Pension Credit guarantee credit and was surprised, therefore, when The Outside Clinic refused to retrospectively issue a voucher signed by the examining optometrist.
