The entertaining Italy and Manchester City footballer Mario Balotelli is going to be out of the game for a couple of weeks because of his contact lenses http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/a/-/soccer/14730254/balotelli-to-miss-world-cup-qualifiers/. Well, it's more to do with the fact he cannot get on with his contact lenses, and as a result he's signed up for Lasik surgery to correct his vision. It seems we have something in common and it's definitely not footballing skills - Balotelli has suffered from allergies and has had a case of conjunctivitis of late. He's also had a well publicised run in with grass http://tinyurl.com/63sb2qx as he suffers from an allergy to certain types. There must be something in the air at the moment as I have been suffering from itchy eyes in recent weeks, which I believe is down to spores. Perfect vision is much more important in his line of work than mine and he can't really use eye drops and spectacles when the itching gets too much, not when he's playing anyhow. That said, as one allergy sufferer to another, I hope the surgery goes well and he's back in action soon.
