As someone who suffers from hayfever and housmite dust allergy I know only too well the itchy annoyance that my eyes can become, especially when wearing monthly contact lenses. The eye-rubbing nastiness of wearing RGP lenses on a summer camping holiday in France many years ago is still fresh in the mind. It seems that I am not alone, with two in five in this survey attesting to suffering from mild to moderate eye allergy symptoms on a daily basis http://finance.yahoo.com/news/eye-allergies-disrupt-daily-activities-111700347.html As we approach spring, it's time for me to invest in some daily disposable contact lenses to stop any build up of irritants on the surface of the lenses. Another tip here and one I haven't followed to date, is to use allergy drops before progressing with contact lens wear and on taking the lenses out. Normally my eyes get so itchy I just remove the lenses, apply drops and wear my specs for a day or two. Although the advice of taking more frequent showers is interesting, it's hardly going to happen at work and I do like a lunchtime stroll in the sunshine, so I won't lock myself away in the office. Daily disposables it is and they should also help me get around the problem of solutions that my eyes don't seem to agree with either, which is probably a matter of preservatives.
