Earlier this week the great and good of optics met with their colleagues in ophthalmology to discuss the way forward for public eye health.
The stakeholder event was organised as part of NHS England’s Call to Action for eye health, which concludes this week after months of sharing ideas and forming conclusions.
Speaking to LOCSU managing director Katrina Venerus yesterday (see this week’s news) it is clear that much of the wider mechanics revolve around the rollout of latest IT.
This does not mean the latest computers, tablets or smart-watches but simple database sharing to make referrals more efficient and patient care more transparent.
