National Eye Health Week once again presented the profession with the opportunity to talk to the public about issues relating to eye health and eye care.
While NEHW presents the opportunity for practices to promote themselves within the high street environment the ultimate winners should be the great British public. A balance needs to be maintained.
Topics on the agenda this week (see news) included all of the stalwarts: smoking, driving and research into age related macular degeneration. There were many fun events along the way plus media appearances and discussions. The public will have benefited from education offers and freebies, but what has the profession gained?
