Comment: Catching the eye of the minister

When the chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Eye Health and Visual Impairment says optics is failing to get its message across we should sit up and take notice.As the chair,and also a Member of Parliament, Sandra Gidley is well placed to know what she is talking about.

Her warning last week (see news) that eye health was not even on MPs' radar is worrying indeed given the high level of noise made inside the profession by those lobbying on optics' behalf.Couple this with her assessment of just how difficult catching the eye of the minister is and you see the enormity of the task.
