Conference call

Rory Brogan

There's one thing that is certainly not lacking in the contact lens industry - large quantities of new fits aside, perhaps - and that's contact lens education. I'm sure practitioners could receive contact lens training every week of the year should they feel the inclination, such is the heightened activity from contact lens manufacturers. Into the mix for March and April come six one-day conferences from CooperVision (March 27, Manchester; March 29, Cardiff; March 31, Leeds; April 3, London, April 5, Birmingham and April 7 London). The conferences span the entire wearer market, from children to presbyopes and cover such topics as 'Corneal demands, do they change with age?'. A panel of very well known speakers, from Dr Philip Morgan to Professor Niel Brennan will take part and more details are available on www.thejourneyoflife.co.uk. Let's hope that events such as these will fire up practitioners to expand contact lens wearing in sectors that are as yet, under-represented.
