Dancing through the hospital ward

For those who haven’t seen it already there is an inspirational video doing the rounds on social media today.

It shows the moment that a 69-year old patient from Malawi had his sight restored by a surgeon in the country’s first ever live cataract operation.

The event, also featured in today’s edition of Optician, certainly brought a smile to Winesi’s face, particularly when able to see his wife’s face clearly for the first time in more than a decade.

Indeed, it was even deemed worthy of a dance and will do much to increase awareness of World Sight Day. Watch the video here
