Don't judge a book -- an overheard cautionary tale

It would be nice if it were so but optical conversations don't abound on busses, in canteens and the like.

 So it was pleasantly surprising to see a large middle aged lady and a rather camp young man at lunch engaged in an animated conversation about the lady's visit to the optician.

I was first alerted to the exchange by the mention of a well know high end spectacle brand name. The lady then went on to explain how the assistant had said how expensive they were, but she didn't mind because they were top quality. She went on to say how the assistant in the shop had wanted her to go for the more toned down colours but she had wanted the blue because it stood out. She was even thinking of getting another pair to go with different outfits.
