Early dectection of wet AMD

According to distributor Grafton Optical, Reichert’s new Foresee Preferential Hyperacuity Perimeter (PHP) can detect early progression of AMD while reducing technician time by up to 80 per cent.

The Reichert Foresee PHP is a non-invasive visual field analyser for monitoring AMD and early detection of conversion to wet AMD or choroidal neovascularisation (CNV). Results from clinical trials show the Foresee PHP had an accuracy of 82 per cent sensitivity and 88 per cent specificity in CNV detection. Grafton said that it also provided enhanced patient report tracking of changes in the visual field over a period of time.
