Editorial copy --it wasn't me guv'nor

The more eagle-eyed among you may have noticed a remarkable similarity between the recent articles on CooperVision that appeared in OT and Vision Now and, perish the thought, Optician. The picture below is by way of proof that I, Chris Bennett on August 15th in the year of our Lord 2007 did hereby visit the afore mentioned company and did conduct the afore mentioned interview. That's my notebook in the picture, shorthand and all. My hat goes off to CooperVision's PR company who, it has to be said, played a blinder by getting all of the optical publications to publish so much in such close proximity. the PRs also did their job well in preparing their client. A good briefing document is essential if you are going to be interviewed and judging by the identical quotes in the OT and Vision Now articles that document must have been a good one. Or perhaps it is just sour grapes on Optician's part for not having a total scoop on the tale after driving all the way to Southampton in the rain to do an interview. Ho hum. As Ronnie Lane might have said: ' I aint a superstitious fella.'........
