Elephant gets fitted with contact lens

I must admit I don't normally bother exploring my Twitter followers' posts but for some reason I had a bit of a peruse this morning. A student follower, Gemma, had a post about  an elephant in contact lenses that looked quite interesting.

This linked into an a website called Animal Tracks where it says you can get your daily fix of cuteness. 

   Today's fix was the story of this Amsterdam-based elephant, Win Thida, and the sad story of its corneal abrasion (  picture lifted from Animal tracks)                                                                   

        All very interesting stuff and another example of how the contact lens boys are muscling in on the spectacle market. I much  preferred the old methods. I wonder if she wears clogs.
