Framed! David Baddiel

The sight of any celebrity in new bins is enough to excite me into action for this column. The fact that this month’s target is commentating on the World Cup has it in the net, so to speak, and I couldn’t resist analysing his new choice of bins and giving you a full frame run down.

David Baddiel is writing for The Times on all things football and, skilled as he obviously is to read the mood of the nation when it comes to our football heroes, ambassador to eyewear he is not.

I am seeing a pattern of incompatibility when it comes to fashionable face furniture and football. What with Sir Alex and his premiership cohort of spectacle criminals and (bless) old Sven for his return to form in his panda rimless (what happened to his new Silhouettes?), it’s alerted me to the fact that a passion for football could make you perilously inept of choosing decent bins.
