From the High St: Expertise... we ‘DO’ need more

If you are a regular reader of these articles, you will know that I am obsessed with the threats that external technology and disruptive changes might bring upon our sector.

I firmly believe that the battleground for the public’s trust, as other options for eye care are made available, will be won, or lost on our ability to communicate our professionalism and expertise to the public at large. That must be a priority, for all of us, for every person we see. 

I’ve written about the clinical and communicative aspects of this in the consulting room time and time again. I’ve majored on how technology could impact positively in terms of our ability to do more in our communities, as well as engage the public in our vital services. The one bit I haven’t spoken about to date is demonstrating our expertise in the overall experience we provide to those we care for.
