Google MasterGlass highlights opportunities

This week the Guardian ran a Masterclass session about the latest capabilities of Google Glass.

Media guru Michael Rosenblum (pictured), also a Google Glass 'explorer', explained how wearable technology gave users the opportunity to shoot and stream video footage like never before.

The system, prompted by voice commands, can deliver live video links from the wearers' perspective. However, it does lack the capability of displaying the wearer during video calls, and requires a steady head rather than a steady hand with smartphone snapping.

Early prototypes of Google Glass are only in controlled US circulation at the moment while the glitches are ironed out, but the mass market version was expected to come in at a more affordable cost than the initial $1,500 pricetag.
