As predicted earlier (see previous post) I have become an evangelist for multifocal contact lenses.
It's official, multifocal contact lenses are scientifically certified as magic.
I've been wearing CooperVision Biofinity multifocal contact lenses for about three weeks now and I still haven't got used to the idea that I can see near and far again without any mucking about.
How can a lens that looks like a single vision lens, handles like a SV lens and smells like a SV lens give great near and far vision to a reluctant presbyope?
I've tried catching them out by looking near, then far, very quickly. Holding the newspaper right up to my face and then looking into the distance, but the vision is just there, every time.
Although they are Silicone Hydrogels I haven't felt inclined to wear them overnight yet. I'm using them on a daily basis with Bausch & Lomb's Bio True MPS. I've also managed to rip one, but apart from that multifocal CLs are proving to be a bit of a wow product.
