Hold on to your specs

Those of a literary bent will have long awaited the latest Jonathan Franzen novel. Events at the London launch party were to take a turn for the worse at the author's specs were stolen and then held to ransom. I'm not sure if the ensuing drama was a publicity stunt or literary criticism but a report of it from the Independent  is well worth a read.

I'm very attached to some of my specs but I'm not too sure I would stretch to a hundred grand be it dollars or pounds.
