Mrs Optician and I decided to visit the theatre this week to see Mark Rylance in Jerusalem, very good it was too, if a little stereotypical of West Country folk.
Typically of half term week it was raining so, not wishing to walk around in misted up and rain-splattered glasses I decided to pop in some contact lenses.
In went the Johnson & Johnson 1 -Day Acuvues and off we went to the train station. Sure enough the rain came down. Once safely inside the train I reached for the newpaper to soak up the time when......
OMG -- (see I'm not that old) What a shock, I couldn't read the paper. As I usually wear CLs for cycling, gardening or other outdoorsy stuff I hadn't realised the creeping tide of presbyopia had already knocked down my sandcastle and inundated my shoes and socks ( metaphorically speaking). If I had been sat in the deckchair I fear I may even have soggy underpants too.
