Is the Queen seeing clearly?

WEBrex-queen-4471759oThe new portrait of the Queen, fifth of her reign, to appear on British coins wearing the diamond diadem she wore for her Coronation in 1953, is the first to have been designed entirely by computer. It shows her smiling and happy. But is she seeing clearly? Since our monarch wears glasses all the time, their omission is difficult to understand, especially if it is to portray her at 88 as she is today – wrinkles and all. So why not spectacles also for a realistic image we have been used to in newspapers and newsreels? It is usual to have wrinkles and spectacles go together – with or without diadems.
