Cerium Visual Technologies defends the Intuitive Colorimeter

I write on behalf of Cerium Visual Technologies, distributors of the Intuitive Colorimeter under license from the Medical Research Council.

Following the publication in the journal OPO of a review entitled ‘The effect of coloured overlays and lenses on reading’ by Professor Brendan Barrett et al, we have received a number of queries from practitioners who were astonished by the findings.

Responses to the review have been submitted for publication by Professor Arnold Wilkins, lead researcher into visual stress and designer of the Intuitive Colorimeter, and Professor Bruce Evans, director of research at the Institute of Optometry.

The review is criticised for its heavy bias by the authors, some of whom have a well-established history of publicly airing sceptical views of coloured lenses.
