Coloured lens used to treat visual stress given development boost

Cerium Visual Technologies has teamed up with the University of Essex to enable the further development of a new digital Intuitive Colorimeter, known as the Curve.

The design was carried out under a government initiative for intellectual property between Cerium and Essex University, together with a team of electronics designers.

Developed in partnership with Arnold Wilkins, professor of psychology at the University of Essex, the Intuitive Colorimetry Curve can quickly prescribe tinted lenses to help those suffering from stress-related reading problems.

The instrument is now digital and uses LED lighting. The patent is now transferred from the Medical Research Council to the University of Essex and the instrument is registered as a class one medical device.
