I am threatening to resign from optics and cancel my subscription to Optician. Mr Levy, if you get another word printed in this otherwise perfectly formed journal then I will leave the profession for ever. Mr Levy, you make me want to leave. You have written absolutely nothing positive in this letters section for the last 18 months.

You have berated fellow dispensing opticians, criticised business practices of many around you and are now attacking the core of the profession and the people that run it (Letters, May 23).

Do not get me wrong, there is a lot that is not right and that needs shaking up. But I love my job, I love optics, I love opening my practice doors in the morning and knowing that I am going to make a real difference to the quality of life of my patients.
