I found compiling the last Mano column (23.07.10) such a cathartic experience I couldn't resist the opportunity to pen another. One of the most pleasing aspects for me as a card-carrying member of the industry was the response Mano drew to the Optician letters page (06.08.10) and indeed from my fellow columnist Omen (27.08.10).

One of the most pleasing aspects for me as a card-carrying member of the industry was the response Mano drew to the Optician letters page (06.08.10) and indeed from my fellow columnist Omen (27.08.10).

Devil's advocate, perhaps, but I felt my point was well made. Optical practitioners have the ability to put superior eyewear on the faces of their customers, and quite often on their own faces too. I have to concur with Optician correspondents on one fact. Professionals are not salespeople but that is why the industry provides training.
