Moneo writes: Keith Holland and Keith Edwards were optical role models

Readers will know that occasionally this column highlights people within our profession who deserve special praise. This month, however, it is tinged with sadness.

Readers will know that occasionally this column highlights people within our profession who deserve special praise. This month, however, it is tinged with sadness. During the past month optometry has lost two of its greatest members of modern times. I refer to Keith Edwards and Keith Holland. I do not intend to outline their careers here but rather to look at the examples they set for all of us. Both these gentleman were consummate examples of professionalism. They were not only deeply caring individuals in their own right, but they espoused the principles that a professional person should – only they did this in spades.
