New styles are pretty Fleye

Simon Jones

Danish Eyewear company Fleye has been inspired by high fashion for its ‘ready-to-wear’ eyewear collection that matches today’s modern fashion trends.

The designs mix sandblasted and shiny acetate, with most models featuring a single-coloured acetate for a pure, refined look. Fleye added that colours were kept in subdued, stylish nuances that complemented clothing fashion in dusty dark blue, clear amethyst, deep and light smoke colour, dark petroleum green and solid-looking polished black.

Some of the models feature a contrasting brightly coloured titanium thread over the bridge, which designer Matilda Sunden Ringner said was ‘the surprising element that gives the stylish frames an edgy look’. Vagn is a large, 1970s look in black with gold titanium thread, while Vik has a keyhole design and a bright green titanium thread. Vidja (1) is a smoke-coloured, semi-transparent cat’s eye frame with purple titanium thread, while Valmar (2) is a nerdy 60s frame in marine blue semi-transparent acetate.

All four models in the new line come with anti-reflective CR39 lightweight non-prescription lenses for consumers who want to wear eyewear as a fashion accessory. The company said: ‘This means making a stop at the optician’s a natural part of the shopping experience when the time comes to replenish your wardrobe.’
